~ Happy Birthday Mom ~

Mom is 85 today!  I doubt I will live so long, but she is still driving and going strong.  My hubby and I moved both mom and dad within walking distance, so we can help mom care for dad.  He has many health problems and it was becoming just too much for mom to do alone.  They have been married 65 years and mom refuses to put dad in a nursing home.

So..... for her birthday she got......

just a bit of her favorite gum..... :)
AND....
some blueberry oatmeal muffins from the recipe on karensquilting.com. Mom LOVES blueberries!  The recipe was YUMMY and you can get it here

AND a pillowcase  I made her, made with her favorite colors!

And lunch out !!  We had a great day, today!  Happy Birthday, Mom!

Afterwards, I came home and worked on my "Top Secret Quilt".  I quilted on it until my poor fingers were raw and really hurt.  Then a simple dinner of grilled cheese for dinner for hubby and I (salad, too).  Tomorrow I will make up for tonight's easy dinner.  I will BBQ some steaks!  Hope you got some quilting done, too!

Oh!  I also wanted to share about two giveawaysSilly Stitching is having a giveaway to celebrate her 200th post.  You could win  a fat quarter bundle of Minick and Simpson's Christmas Past.  This giveaway ends Sunday, July 9, so hurry!
